Pak lawyers boycott courts over sacked judges
Karachi, May 23rd 2008 : Pakistani lawyers boycotted courts across the country on May 22 stepping up pressure on the new government to reinstate judges sacked by President Pervez Musharraf.
Chanting slogans “Go Musharraf, Go", hundreds of lawyers marched through the streets of Karachi and other cities, demanding that the former army chief step down as President. Lawyers have been at the forefront of opposition to Musharraf, since the President dismissed the then Supreme Court chief justice, Iftikhar Chaudhry, in March last year.
