Federal Bank's staff in east, NE goes on strike on Monday
Kolkata, May 23 (UNI) The Federal Bank Employees Union (FBEU) has called for a strike in all branches of Eastern region and Northeast on May 26 in protest against contract labour and outsourcing of banking jobs.
FBEU vice-president Suvasish Ganguly today said all the branches of the bank in West Bengal, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand and eight NE states will remain close on Monday in response to the one-day strike.
The employees, protesting since March against management's alleged decision to go for contract labour and outsourcing of all kinds of jobs, had struck work on March 31 across the country.
Mr Ganguly in a statement also alleged that the bank had violated Arms act by engaging outsourced armed guards in different branches.
