Delhi region class X result on May 29

New Delhi, May 23 (UNI) The Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) will declare on May 29 the class X results for the Delhi region, examinations for which were held from March 1 to 27.

Addressing a media conference here today, Board Chairman Ashok Ganguly said the results for the Chennai and other four regions-- Ajmer, Panchkula, Allahabad and Guwahati-- might be declared a day earlier on May 28.

''Delhi result will be announced on May 29. We are trying to declare the results for the other regions by May 28. We will confirm the dates for the five regions later,'' he added.

The Board will host the results on the net-- www.results.nic.in, www.cbseresults.nic.in and www.cbse.nic.in-- by 0800 hrs.

The results can also accessed by sending SMS to 52001, 56735, 5431202 and 51234.

This year, more than 7.65 lakh students appeared for the class ten examinations. In the Delhi region, 2.19 lakh pupils wrote the examination, registering an increase of 5.68 per cent over the previous year.

The Board, this year, had introduced redesigned High Order Thinking Skills (HOTS) question paper. Based on the National Curriculum Framework--2005, the new design included about 10 per cent of very short answer questions and about 20 per cent of questions to assess HOTS.
