Wentworth, UK, May 23 (UNI) In his second appearance in Europe this season, Indian Golfer Shiv Shankar Prasad Chowrasia carded a solid two-under 70 to tied 12th after the first round in the BMW PGA Championship here.
Chowrasia, bogeyed third and seventh to be two-over at that stage but hit back quickly with birdies on eighth and ninth.
An eagle followed on 12th and a birdie on 15th brought him to three-under. However, a late bogey on 17th spoilt his card.
Chowrasia was five behind the leader Paul McGinley from Ireland, who had a bogey-free round and shot seven-under-par 65.
The other Indian golfer in the fray are Shiv Kapur (71) was tied 26th, Jyoti Randhawa (73) was 59th and Jeev Milkha Singh (78) was 129th.
Shiv Kapur started with two birdies in the first four holes, only to give up that great start with three bogeys between fifth and 10th holes. He finished with a one-under 71 and was tied 26th.
Randhawa dropped five bogeys against four birdies for a 73 whereas Chandigarh pro Jeev Milkha Singh hit five bogeys on the front nine and another three on the back nine and had just two birdies against them for a 78.
