London, May 23 : Britney Spears' father Jamie Spears has demanded cash for looking after the popstar during her battle with a string of problems.
Jamie has asked the court for 5,000 pounds in lost earnings for looking after the 26-year-old when she was battling drinks, drugs and weight problems along with her custody for her two sons.
Britney's father was a chef and had to leave his job when he was made a conservator of her estate in February.
Jamie's application was approved this week by an LA court and granted him compensation of 1,300 pounds per week for loss of earnings in February.
"As a result of the responsibilities Mr Spears has assumed as Temporary Conservator of the Person and Temporary Co-Conservator of the Estate, he has been unable to continue his prior employment," the Mirror quoted the court papers, as saying.
The legal papers also indicated that Jamie does not have a source of income to pay his expenses and bills anymore.
Her dad's interference in Britney's life has seen her improving remarkably after he started looking after her personal and professional affairs. The progress has even impressed the judge in her child custody battle.
Britney was recently granted extra visitation rights over her sons - Sean Preston, two, and Jayden James, 18 months - who live with her ex-hubby Kevin Federline.
"This wouldn't have happened if Jamie Spears wasn't involved," admitted a spokesman for K-Fed.
Britney has been showing improvement ever since her father took over as co-conservator of her estate when she was claimed to be dangerous to her children and herself.
