Hyderabad, May 23 (UNI) Andhra Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC) President D Srinivas today strongly objected to Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) President K Chandrasekhara Rao's statement that the Congress high command would change the Chief Minister after the byelections in the state.
Addressing a press conference here, he alleged that Mr Rao was creating confusion among the people and the party workers by his ''baseless'' allegations. ''It is not good on the part of Mr Rao to interfere in the affairs of other political parties,'' he added.
Mr Srinivas said Congress Working Committee member and incharge of party affairs in Andhra M Veerappa Moily had stated that the high command would not change Chief Minister Y S Rajasekhara Reddy.
The APCC President said he had discussed the issue with Union Urban Development Minister S Jaipal Reddy, who said there was no move to change the present Chief Minister.
Instead of participating in the election campaign, Mr Rao was resorting to 'cheap gimmicks' only to mislead the people with his confusing statements, he alleged.
