Silver, gold open at two-month high

Mumbai, May 22: Spot silver and gold today opened at a two-month high of Rs 25,450 per kg with a massive gain of Rs 740 per kg and Rs 13,080 per ten gm with a big gain of Rs 220 respectively from their last close on heavy speculative demand from stockists and bullish advice from London and Asian markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.

In the London and Asian markets, gold quoted high at a range of USD 930.10/932.50 per troy ounce and silver crossed the 18 mark and touched a new high at USD 18.10/18.12 per troy ounce from their last finish which reflected in the domestic prices, traders added. Following were the opening spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 25,450 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 13,020 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 13,080.
