Rupee weakens past 43.00 level against USD
Mumbai, May 22: Rupee today weakened past 43.00 against US Dollar to hit at 43.21/22, depreciated about 37 paise from its previous close of 42.84/85 per Dollar as the global crude oil prices hit an all-time high.
The partially convertible Indian Rupee past this level for the first time in more than 13 months on rising concern of high inflation and increased demand for Dollars needed to buy the commodity, dealers said.
