Itanagar, May 22(UNI)Lok Sabha MP from Arunachal Pradesh Kiren Rijiju has expressed concern over the alleged move of some Chinese oil companies trying to enter the state's oil sector through Indian companies by providing them exploration equipment.

In a letter to the prime minister yesterday, the BJP MP sought his intervention in directing the Production Ssharing Contracts(PSC) at Kharsang and Jairampur in Arunachal's Changlang district not to allow any company providing Chinese equipment, machinery or services in the state.

Mr Rijiju in the letter, a copy of which was made available to the press, stated that the PSCs were getting equipment, finance and expertise from a Chinese company, which was trying to enter Changlang indirectly through an Indian company.

''Arunachal is a sensitive state with Chinese claim on it. No direct or indirect involvement of a Chinese company should be allowed in the state,'' he said and added that security concerns must first be addressed before giving clearance to any foreign company in sensitive areas.

Disclosing that he had brought the matter before the Union Home Affairs Ministry, the MP further said that Arunachalees were not being issued visas to visit China.

''We must understand this sentiment, otherwise there will be serious repercussions,'' he added.
