Panesar has no plans to turn down appealing volume for Hair

By Staff

London, May 22 : Monty Panesar will give umpire Darrell Hair a noisy welcome back to Test cricket at Old Trafford today.

Old Trafford is Panesar's favourite ground as the pitch suits his bowling. In two Test appearances here he has taken 18 wickets.

Panesar is yet to be disciplined for his constant and, at times, over the top appealing and is sure to ask regular questions of Hair when he bowls at his end.

Panesar's loud appealing raised eyebrows during drawn First Test at Lord's.

But the Northants hero has no plans to turn down the volume for Hair, The Sun reported.

"My excitement of the game takes over. The passion that I bowl with comes out. But I don't think there is a danger of my enthusiasm turning into dissent and I am not going to hold back. I just go with my gut feeling. If it hits the pads I'll go up," he said.

"It is good to see someone as highly respected as Hair back in international cricket. I don't know if he is under more pressure. He has so much experience, I am sure he is looking forward to it," Panesar added.

Panesar took 10 wickets against the West Indies in last year's Old Trafford Test.
