Bangalore, May 22 (UNI) In Hubli city renowned Hindustani vocalist Gangubai Hangal was among the early voters who exercised her franchise in the third and final phase of polling.
The 93 year-old, Kirana Gharana fame, walked to the booth situated near her house in Hubli to cast her vote.
x x x x In Belgaum district missing names in voter's list in some places created confusion. In this border district, which has sizable Marathi speaking population, voters' list had been printed in three languages -- Kannada, Marathi and English, but many names were found missing in vernacular languages while they were present in the list printed in English.
Officials convinced voters and allowed all those whose names were in the English list.
Elaborate checks of the voter's identities in Indi constituency had delayed the voting process and long queues were seen in many booths.
