Court orders framing of charges in DDA land scam case
New Delhi, May 22 (UNI) A city court today ordered framing of charges against the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) officials and a former High Court judge Sameet Mukherjee in a DDA land scam case.
In 2003, the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) had lodged four separate cases under various provisions of Indian Penal Code and Prevention of Corruption Act against the accused.
The case arrises from an unauthorised construction of a lift in a building for getting favourable order from the High Court in a land dispute case.
After arresting the High Court judge, the CBI got his police remand in the case.
The CBI also accused former DDA chairperson Subhash Sharma and middleman Dharamveer Khattar in the case and filed a chargesheet against them.
Finding prima facie evidence, Additional Sessions Judge Indermeet Kaur Kochar directed framing of charges against the accused and adjourned the matter till May 24.
