Patna, May 22 (UNI) Bihar BJP today announced that the party will organise public meetings from June 1 to June 15 in all the districts across the state to protest the 'failure' of the Congress-led UPA government at the Centre in checking the spiralling prices of essentials.
State party General Secretary Rajendra Prasad Gupta told newspersons here today that through public meetings, people would be made aware of the 'flawed' policies of the UPA government, leading to steep hike in prices of essentials.
Despite repeated requests by the Opposition, the UPA government had 'failed' to take the remedial measures in time , causing great hardship to the people, he said.
'' We will put up hoardings at the public meeting venues and other community places affixing the comparative charts of the prices of essentials during the present regime at the Centre and erstwhile Vajpayee government, '' he said, adding mass awareness programmes through cycle procession in rural areas had been on since May 21 and it would continue till May 30, 2008.
