Port Blair, May 22 (UNI) A short documentary film, shot in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands, has been selected for screening at the first Nasik International Film Festival to be held on May 23 and 24.
''The exhibition of a film on the Andamans, during the festival will be a proud moment for these islands. I am looking forward to it,'' Naresh Chandra Lall, the writer and director of the film, told UNI today.
The film, titled 'Beyond the Horizon (Amrit Jal)', was also screened at the Seventh International Film Conference on Social Cinema at Nandan, Kolkata, in February.
Bollywood actor Sanjay Swaraj, who has acted in several movies, including 'Guru', 'Jaal', 'Dhamaal' and 'Gangajal', is the lead actor in the film.
''The movie has been made under the banner of Island Films and depicts Hindi as a connecting language in the Andaman and Nicobar Islands,'' the director said.
Mr Lall is also an active member of the Indian Film Directors' Association and Indian Motion Picture Producers' Association.
