London, May 21 : If you thought falling in love online was a new thing, think again, for a couple who met via online in 1982 just celebrated their 25th wedding anniversary.

Chris Dunn and Pam Jensen from Chicago were users of the pioneering CompuServe CB Simulator that was an early form of the popular instant messenger that has captivated millions of web users.

The real 'silver surfers,' after having hit it off in cyberspace, met at a party in Chicago and tied the knot within a year.

"Computers weren't as pervasive as they are now," The Sun quoted Pam, as saying.

"To a lot of people, especially my parents' generation, it seemed very alien - a suspicious concept to even be communicating like that," she added.

According to recent figures, UK is the largest online dating market in Europe - with Brits spending over 40 million pounds looking for love online.
