Bangalore, May 21: Congress Election Campaign Committee Chairman Siddaramaiah today said he was one of the aspirants for the post of Chief Minister.

Mr Siddaramaiah told reporters here that the Congress Legislature Party (CLP) would give its opinion first on the issue based on which the High Command would decide on the Chief Ministership. The High Command is likely to have a tough time in choosing the Chief Minister candidate, if the party came to power as there are many aspirants, including Former Chief Minister S M Krishna and Karnataka Pradesh Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge, in the race.

''The party will get a clear majority and form the government on its own without anybody's support this time in view of the wave in support of the Congress,'' he said, adding it would get more than 115 seats this time.

''People are fed up of JD(S) and BJP rule in the past two years and have expressed their desire to have a new government with Congress which can provide a stable administration,'' he said.
