People in general reject LF's land acquisition policy : Cong
Kolkata, May 21 (UNI) Congratulating the Trinamool Congress for decisive victories in Nandigram, the Congress today said Chief Minister Buddhadeb Bhattacharjee had lost all rights to continue in the saddle after the Panchayat election result.
'' The Left Front's 'agriculture is our base and industrialisation is our future' slogan has totally failed and even the Chief Minister's continuous campaign in favour of industrialisation has received a severe jolt because the people in general have rejected the government's land acquisition policy, '' he added.
'' It has been established that the CPI(M)-led Left Front has received a jolt in the Panchayat election and if an Opposition-led alliance could have been formed, another five or six more Zilla Parisads could have been snatched from the ruling Front, '' veteran Congress leader Subrata Mukherjee told newspersons here.
He said it was also established that the Front had forcibly acquired land, adding the policy could win the Tata's hearts, but failed to win the people's hearts.
He appealed to the Trinamool Congress to form a secular front with the Congress to throw the Front out of the power in the next election.
