Kochi, May 21 (UNI) Kerala should follow the example of its neighbours Karnataka and Tamil Nadu to formulate an exclusive export promotion policy, Mr R Asokan, Joint Director (South), Federation of Indian Export Organisations (FIEO), said today.
Speaking at a seminar on 'Strategic Export Management', held here by FIEO, Citibank and the Indian Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Mr Asokan said several other states were also waking up to the importance of a concerted export policy.
While Karnataka had already announced such a policy, both Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu were in the process of doing so. Kerala also should follow suit, he added.
Earlier, inaugurating the seminar, ICCI President R Mohandas said that export-import management in the 21st century required knowledge about Exim procedures, forex risk management, trade finance, strategies, rules and marketing techniques.
