IBS acquires US-based VIsaer Inc

Bangalore, May 21: IBS Software, a leading provider of IT solutions to the global travel, transportation and logistics industries, today announced acquisition of US-based VISaer Inc, a leader in aviation maintenance and engineering software solutions. Announcing the acquisition at a press conference here, IBS Software CEO and Chairman V K Mathews, however, declined to disclose the cost of the deal. He said ''the acquisition of VISaer is a strategic decision.

Aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul are vital functions for airlines and VISaer completes our portfolio of solutions that help airlines effectively manage their operational requirements.'' He said the acquisition helped IBS in making a dent in the Maintenance, Repair and Overhaul (MRO) market worth ten billion US Dollars in Asia and 15 billion US Dollars at the global level. ''At present, the MRO industry is badly in need of a leader and IBS wants to become a leader.''
