Doctors withdraw strike
Thiruvananthapuram, May 21 (UNI) The indefinite strike called by the government doctors in Kerala from tomorrow has been withdrawn following talks with state Health Minister P K Sreemathy.
After several rounds of discussion, the Kerala Government Medical Officers Association (KGMOA) decided to withdraw the agitation.
KGMO representatives said the decision was taken following an assurance from the government on the contentious issue of wage hike.
Meanwhile, reports from several parts of the state indicate that the services at the government hospitals had already been affected due to the strike call. It would take a couple of days to restore normal situation.
