Cong legislators of BC urge community people to vote for party
Hyderabad, May 21 (UNI) The Congress legislators, belonging to BC communities, today appealed to the voters of their community to extend strong support to the party candidates in the byelections as the ruling Congress government was committed to the welfare of the backward classes in Andhra Pradesh.
B Saraiah, P Satyanarayana and G Thippeswamy, in a statement here said the state government had allocated more funds in the Budget for the welfare of the backward classes and ordered waiver of loans to the tune of Rs 293 crore.
They claimed that the government had fulfilled all the demands of the BCs and increased income limit for them to avail scholarship for their children. The government was providing scholarships for the BC students on a par with SC and ST students.
They alleged that the TDP and TRS were misleading the people by shedding 'crocodile tears' for BCs in view of the elections.
