Bogus purchase of wheat at MSP
Bhopal, May 21 (UNI) Bogus purchase of more than 16,000 quintal wheat at minimum support price (MSP) at Itarsi Krishi Upaj Mandi was detected during a surprise inspection by Hoshangabad District Collector G P Tiwari.
Involvement of mandi officials as well as the agents of Food Corporation of India and State Civil Supplies Corporation were found. First Information Report (FIR) would be registered against the guilty, the Collector said.
Fake documents relating to entry pass and purchase agreement were prepared and mandi Inspector D K Sharma also admitted to the fraud, an official release said today.
The bogus purchase of 16,286 quintal wheat had come to the notice during inspection on May 19, while actually only 4470.95 quintal were sold on that day, the release said.
