Silver, gold open low in early trade
Mumbai, May 20: Silver and gold opened low at Rs 23,975 per kg with a loss of Rs 55 per kg and Rs 12,505 per ten gm with a small loss of Rs 10 respectively from their last close on lack of demand and bearish advice from London and Asian markets, traders at the Bombay Bullion Association (BBA) said.
In the Asian markets, gold quoted low at USD 907.10/908.80 per troy ounce and silver at USD 17.16 per troy ounce from their last finish which reflected on the downward trend in the domestic prices. Following were the today's opening spot rates: Silver (per kg) 999 fineness grade: Rs 23,975 Gold (per 10 gm): 99.5 purity standard mint: Rs 12,505 99.9 purity pure gold: Rs 12,565
