Jaipur, May 20 (UNI) In a rare humanitarian gesture, the Limca Book oldest Man Rahim Khan alias Haji Habib Miyan today opted not to celebrate his 139th birth day and instead organised a special namaaz (prayer) for the peace to those who lost their lives in the May 13 serial blasts here.
Talking to UNI over the phone, Habib said, ''This is not an occasion for me to celebrate but to pray for peace for the departed souls and share sorrow with the victim's families.'' ''I do also pray for peace and harmony among people in the Pink City which had witnessed devastating happening a week ago." the centurian added.
''I also want to call upon the youth in particular to work to maintain peace and harmony for ever,'' he said.
A special namaaz was held in a park near his residence in the Ghat Ki Guni area here this morning. A large number of people from different walks of life participated in the namaaz held for peace of departed souls.
