Chandigarh, May 20 (UNI) ICICI Prudential Life Insurance has sold over 29 lakh policies, which includes 15 lakh policies in the rural areas, in the last financial year.
Stating this here today company's Senior Vice-President and Head Customer Service and Operations Poonam Bhardwaj said that during this period the total premium income increased to Rs 13,561 crores from Rs 7,913 crores in FY 2006-07.
She said the company had completed 7 years of operations during which it sold over 7 million policies and crossed the Rs 28,000 crores in assets held.
The company has over 1,950 branches in over 1,665 cities across the country, including 1009 branches in rural segments, she said.
"The company has not only opened rural branches in 12 states, but has also launched first-of-its-kind service initiatives with key state-governed institutes to increase convenience amongst rural customers. In FY 2007-08, ICICI Prudential Life tied-up with the Department of Post in AP, UP, Punjab and Gujarat and South Indian Bank in Kerala to provide convenient premium paying facilities to the customers," Ms Bhardwaj said.
