Girl killed, 2 injured and 26 houses damaged in Kashmir winds, flood
Srinagar May 20 (UNI) A girl was killed, two others were wounded and 26 houses damaged due to heavy storm and floods in the Kashmir valley overnight, official sources said today.
They said cloud burst and hailstorm caused flood in a nallah at Paharthen in central Kashmir last evening.
Two girls Maimoona and Shabnam were washed away, however, Shabnam was saved while the body of Maimoona was fished out at a distance they said.
They said heavy winds blew up the roof tops of about 26 houses in Pulwama and Anantnag district of south Kashmir last night, injuring girl.
A hostel of Yateem Trust at Dulbagh, Soura, was damaged in a fire incident last night. The fire was caused due to short circuit, they said. However, no one was injured, they added.
