Former minister's supporters thrash clerk in Chhattisgarh
Korba, Chhattisgarh, May 20 (UNI) Supporters of Rampur BJP legislator and former minister Nankiram Kanwar today thrashed a senior clerk of the district excise office over his alleged misbehaviour.
According to eyewitness, Mr Kanwar said he had gone to the Collectorate office for some work where 30-40 people from Pidia village met him and complained about not receiving ration card under the Chief Minister Foodgrain Scheme.
When Mr Kanwar went to the Food department, he could not find a responsible official.
In the meantime, some other villagers from Katghora, Pondi, Uproda and Kartala block reached there and complained about huge quantity of sale of illegal liquor among villagers.
Mr Kanwar then went to the Excise office but could not find a responsible person. When asked about senior official, a senior clerk present there replied in a bad manner.
Mr Kanwar rebuked him over this but the clerk involved in an argument with him. On this, villagers and Mr Kanwar's supporters thrashed the clerk forcing Mr Kanwar to intervene.
No complaint has been lodged from either side so far.
