BJP demands campaign against Bangladeshi migrants in UP
Lucknow, May 20 (UNI) The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today demanded that Uttar Pradesh government deport Bangladeshi migrants both from the state and the country as it was the need of the hour and our constitutional responsibility.
Terming the illegal stay of Bangladeshi migrants a result of ''vote bank politics'', UP BJP unit vice-president and party spokesperson Hridey Narayan Dixit said ''The state government should begin a campaign against them, just as the Rajasthan government did.'' The BJP leader also claimed that a large number of such migrants were residing in Lucknow illegaly.
Therefore, the time has arrived for the state government to take strict action against these migrants, he maintained.
''Despite the Supreme Court's warning that the migrants are a threat to country's security, the Centre did a little in this regard,'' Mr Dixit charged.
''Now, the situation has become so grim that the illegal migrants have got prepared their ration cards and their names included in voters list,'' the BJP spokesperson added.
Later, such people assist terrorists in completing their nefarious designs, he alleged.
