Fatehgarh Sahib, May 20 (UNI) The Bihar police today arrested a minor girl and a youth, in Amloh town of the district when they were going to perform a court marriage with the help of some fake documents .
After taking both in their custody, the team led by Katihar SHO Sunil Kumar Singh left for Bihar, local police officials here stated.
As per reports, the girl (13), resident of village Madopur under Katihar police station in Bihar and a student of class VI was taking tuitions from an under matriculate, Babu Lal Singh (22). On January 4, 2008 the two ran away from their home and planned to marry.
On the statement of the girl's father, Parma Nand Chowdhry, a case was registered at the Katihar police station on January 25.
He suspected that the youth, his mother Bhama Devi and brother Devraj Mandal of were behind the 'kidnapping' of his daughter.
The boy's father, Jai Parkash Mandal is working as an FCI labourer in Amloh.
Kathihar SHO informed mediapersons here that after eloping the youth took the girl to Kota and Suratgarh (Rajasthan) and lived there for some time.
He said the police had conducted raids at various places to trace the duo.
He said the Bihar police on May 17 got information that both were hiding in Amloh and so they came here.
