Bhopal, May 19 (UNI) Madhya Pradesh Assembly Opposition Leader Jamuna Devi today alleged that the state government has auctioned immovable assets of the State Road Transport Corporation under pressure from transport and land mafia.
In a statement issued here today, Ms Devi said a lot of corruption is taking place in the sale of immovable assets and granting of permits of routes.
She demanded that auction of properties of the Corporation be stopped and a white paper be issued on the liabilities of the Corporation.
The Opposition leader alleged that the BJP had hatched up a conspiracy to sell MPSRTC properties worth Rs 30,000 crore before upcoming assembly polls.
She said the BJP had failed to fulfill its promise made in poll manifesto to improve the condition of the MPSRTC.
''The government is ignoring the welfare of the MPSRTC and has not made payment of dearness allowance to them despite directions of the Supreme Court in this regard,'' Ms Devi added.
