London, May 19 : American singer-songwriter Neil Diamond has topped the UK chart for the first time with his new studio album 'Home Before Dark'.
The album has also topped the US chart.
Diamond has now become the artist who has taken the longest to top the album chart with an original work.
The 67-year-old, whose debut album was released in 1966, has only ever topped the album chart once before, with a greatest hits compilation in 1992.
'Home Before Dark' is his first album of new material to top the chart, reports the BBC.
Diamond begins a European tour in Rotterdam on 24 May, and he will be staging gigs Glasgow and Cardiff in June.
