Kathmandu, May 18 (UNI) Rebutting Maoist leader Baburam Bhattarai's claim about Madhesi parties, including Madhesi People's Rights Forum (MPRF) joining the CPN-M led governmnet, its Chairman Upendra Yadav has termed such speculation baseless.

This comes just a day after a statement by Dr. Bhattarai on Friday claiming that the CPN-Maoist is forming a coalition government with all the Madhesi parties, including MPRF.

''MPRF does not have the people's mandate to join the government,'' its Chairman Upendra Yadav was quoted as saying by Kantipur in the Madhes heartland of Sunsari. Refuting Bhattarai's claim, he added, ''MPRF has not even discussed the possibility of joining the government.'' According to Mr Yadav, MPRF policy is to raise the plight of Madhes while remaining in the opposition corner.

''The task of providing a greater voice for Madhes in the constitution can be carried out while remaining in the opposition.

And the MPRF has no urgency for joining the government,'' Mr Yadav added.

He however also said that the MPRF cannot remain outside the government if all the other political parties represented in the CA participate in it.

Mr Yadav reiterated his demand for the resignation of Prime Minister Girija Prasad Koirala.
