Heat wave prevails in south coastal Andhra Pradesh

Pune, May 18 (UNI) Severe heat wave conditions prevailed in some parts of south coastal Andhra Pradesh.

Heat wave conditions also prevailed in some parts of Orissa and at isolated places in southwest Rajasthan, east Madhya Pradesh, north coastal Tamil Nadu and in remaining parts of coastal Andhra Pradesh. Hot day conditions prevailed at isolated places in Haryana, Punjab, northwest Rajasthan and in remaining parts of east Madhya Pradesh. Day temperatures were markedly above normal in Arunachal Pradesh and in some parts of Assam and were appreciably above normal in some parts of Gangetic West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu and Kashmir and of Tamil Nadu and in remaining parts of Orissa and were above normal in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, coastal Karnataka and in some parts of Saurashtra, Konkan and Goa, Chattisgarh, Telangana and of Rayalaseema.

They were appreciably below normal in some parts of Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, south Gujarat Region and of north Madhya Maharashtra. They were normal over the rest of the country.

Rain or thundershowers are likely to occur at many places in Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Gangetic West Bengal, Andaman and at a few places in Sub-Himalayan West Bengal, Sikkim, Orissa, Himachal Pradesh, Jammu, Kashmir and Nicobar and at isolated places in Jharkhand, Bihar, Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Rajasthan, north Madhya Pradesh, Vidarbha, Chattisgarh, coastal Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Lakshadweep.

Mainly dry weather is likely to prevail over south Madhya Pradesh, Gujarat state, Konkan and Goa, Madhya Maharashtra, Marathwada, Telangana, Rayalaseema and north interior Karnataka.

Rain and thundershowers occurred at many places in Assam and Meghalaya, Gangetic West Bengal and at a few places in Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, east Uttar Pradesh and at isolated places in Arunachal Pradesh, Sub-Himalayan West Bengal and Sikkim, Orissa, Jharkhand, Haryana, Jammu and Kashmir, Rajasthan, Konkan and Goa, coastal and south interior Karnataka, Kerala and Andaman and Nicobar.
