Section 144 CrPC clamped in Dimapur
Kohima, May 17 (UNI) The Dimapur district administration has clamped prohibitory orders under Section 144 CrPC in Dimapur and Chumkedima towns in the wake of yesterday's interfactional clash between rival factions of the NSCN.
Dimapur Deputy Commissioner Maong Aier, who is also the District Magistrate, said any assembly of more than four persons would not be allowed in the town during the period of prohibitory orders.
Meanwhile, following the Cabinet's decision, there was heavy deployment of Assam Rifles and CRPF in and around Dimapur and Chumukedima towns for patrolling operations and frisking of vehicles in the areas.
Large number of security personnel were also deployed in the areas prone to interfactional clashes, including Diphupar, Seithekima and its adjoining areas.
Most of the shops in Dimapur town remained closed today apprehending clashes.
Official sources claimed that the situation was tense, but fully under control.
