Jaipur, May 17 (UNI) Brilliant batting by Grame Smith(unbeaten 75 off 43), S Asnodkar (50 off 44) and Shane Watson (unbeaten 46 off 28) and excellent bowling led Rajasthan Royals to a comprehensive 65-run victory over Banglore's Royal Challenger and booked their berth in the IPL cricket semi finals at the SMS stadium here this evening.
Rajasthan Royals, who were rated as the underdogs prior to the commencement of the tournament, has performed extra ordinarily as they continue to top the eight team table with 16 points from the ten matches they have played so far. They have now assured their berth in the last four.
On the contrary, Banglore suffered their eighth defeat in ten matches and are placed at the bottom. Rajasthan Royals has proved their superiority against their rivals again as they had beaten them in the first round by seven wickets. Rajasthan Royals has now won all the six matches they have played on their name ground.
Asked to bat first, Rajasthan Royals piled up 197 for one in 20 overs and then restricted their opponents to 132 for 9 in 20 overs. Bangaloer Royal Challengers Skipper Rahul Dravid remained unbeaten on 75 off only 36 balls. Shane Warne and Sohail Tanveer each took three wickets and conceded 23 and 10 runs respectively.
