Mumbai Indians out to take revenge against Deccan Chargers

Hyderabad, May 17 (UNI) After inflicting a severe drubbing on Kolkata Knight Riders to be in contention for the semi-final berth with five wins in a row, a confident Mumbai Indians will go all out to take revenge against Deccan Chargers in the return match in the DLF Indian Premier League(IPL) here tomorrow.

Cock-a-hoop after an eight-wicket win over Kolkata Knight Riders last night, the Sachin Tendulkar-led Mumbai outfit, who had lost to Deccan Chargers in their first match, will try to salvage their prestige in tomorrow's match at the flood-lit Rajiv Gandhi International cricket stadium.

While Mumbai Indians have 10 points from five wins and four losses, the hosts have only four points from two wins and eight losses, and are out of the reckoning for the semifinals.

In their first outing, Australian Adam Gilchrist had blasted 109 off 42 balls to score the fastest century, to enable Deccan Chargers defeat Mumbai Indians by 10 wickets, surpassing the modest target of 155 set by Mumbai Indians on the loss of seven wickets.

Gilchrist is expected to repeat his scintillating performance tomorrow. He will be ably assisted by Rohit Sharma, Venugopal Rao and Herschelle Gibbs.

The bowling attack for the hosts will be spearheaded by P Vijayakumar, P Ojha, R P Singh, D Kalyankrishna and Sanjay Bangar.

The Mumbai Indians have South African all-rounder Shaun Pollock, whose devastating 3 for 12 spell broke the back of Kolkata Knight Riders in the last match to restrict them to a low score of 67, will be the wrecker-in chief for the visitors. He will be ably assisted by Bravo, Raje and Thornely.

Experienced Sanath Jayasuriya, who effortlessly scored 48 against Knight Riders, will once again prove that he could outperform even in this shorter version of the game considered to be more suitable for youngsters. Pollock, Robin Uthappa and young Abhishek Nayar are expected to play some useful knocks for the visitors.
