Lovers commit suicide

Kalpatta, May 17: A youth and a 17-year-old girl were found dead in a gorge at the seventh-hair bend on the Tharassery-Kalpetta road, today.

They had allegedly committed suicide.

Police said they were identified as Shilpa of Ambalavayal and her lover Ramesh (27), hailing from Battery in Wayanad district.

Shilpa was said to be the younger sister of Ramesh's sister-in-law and were said to be lovers.

They took the extreme step by tying their body with a shawl and drove an autorikshaw straight to the 700-meter deep gorge, when their relatives opposed their lover-affair.
