Godman remanded to judicial custody
Aluva, May 17 (UNI) The First Class Judicial Magistrate at Perumbavoor near here remanded Kerala godman Himaval Maheswara Bhadranand to judicial custody this evening.
Aluva police led by SI M K Murali raided the residence of Bhadranand at Asokapuram near here this evening and seized his passport, the license of his pistol and some other documents.
His mother Chandrika Devi alias Somaja was also staying in the house. Police IG Vinson Paul also visited the residence.
Additional Director General of Police (Intelligence) Jacob Punnoose, later held discussion with IG Paul, SP M Padamanabhan and Dy SP P N Unnirajan.
Meanwhile, reports indicated that the whole drama of pistol firing on the CI's office was a part of a well-planned conspiracy of Bhadranath, his accomplices and the reporter, to misguide the police investigation and divert the attention of public.
