Cong using official machinery in by-polls: INLD
Hisar, May 17 (UNI) Indian National Lokdal (INLD) candidate for Adampur Assembly constituency Prof Sampat Singh today alleged the Congress was misusing official machinery and issuing threats to Panch, Sarpanchs and Depot holders in the run-up to the May 22 byelections.
''Despite the misuse of official resources, Congress candidate's security would be forfeited in the Adampur election and the brave people of the constituency would not succumb to government's pressure and unfair practices,'' Prof Singh, who was former state finance Minister, said in a press conference here.
Lambasting the Congress government for price-rise, he said, Congress had failed to control the inflation and the people would punish the party for it.
''The government has no political will or intent to control the spiralling prices as the government is hand-in-glove with the hoarders and the big business houses,'' he alleged, people are fed up with the false promises of controlling the prices. The living costs have doubled in the last three years but the government is totally unconcerned with the people's agonies.'' ''Because of inflation the poor sections of the society are also coming in large numbers to support INLD,'' he claimed.
