New Delhi, May 17 (UNI) Extending his full support to Harbhajan Singh, former India skipper Sourav Ganguly described him as a very good human being and asked the off-spinner to control his aggression as he is very crucial for the national squad.
''Harbhajan is an aggressive person but he is very good at heart.
He is a friend who is always ready to help anybody at anytime,'' the Kolkata Knight Riders captain said in a radio interview.
''The senior players reasoned with him and he needs to understand how vital he is to the team and so he should control himself,'' Ganguly said.
The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) banned the temperamental off-spinner for five ODIs for slapping Kings XI Punjab pacer S Sreesanth after an IPL match last month and also warned him to mend his ways or face a life ban.
The IPL also barred the offie for the remaining IPL matches.
Whlie accepting that the IPL is a revolutionary concept, the 35-year-old left handed batsman said the longer version of the game remained the true test of a player's abilities.
''This is true that the IPL has brought about a paradigm change in cricket. All the stadiums remain packed... We wish that this new style of cricket will be successful,'' he said.
''This is entertainment, but involves a lot of travelling. The real cricket is Test cricket,'' he added.
