Weapons used in Rita Bawa's murder recovered
Jalandhar, May 16 (UNI) Punjab Police today recovered the weapons used in the gruesome murders of Kanya Maha Vidyalaya (KMV) principal Rita Bawa and three others here in early January this year.
Suprintendent of Police SK Kalia told media persons here today that the weapons used in the brutal murders of women's college principal, her cook and two security guards, included two sharp-edged weapons used for chopping meat and a kitchen knife.
The SP said that weapons were burried under the heap of earth in the college premises and were recovered when the labourers stumbbled upon them while digging the land for construction purpose this morining.
The KMV principal was found brutally killed on January 6th morning this year at her official residence in the college campus along with her cook Kishore Kumar and two security guards, identified as Shamsudeen and Tarsem Lal, whose bodies were found at some distance from the college gate.
During investigations, police ruled out robbery, as the motive of the sensational killings as huge amount of cash was recovered from her residence and her ornaments were found intact but her room was found ransacked by the alleged assailants, indicating that they were looking for something else. However, even after more than four months of the murders, police still groping in the dark regarding the identity of the killers.
Ms Bawa, a divorcee in her 50s and was about to retire in March, was living alone in the principal's residence in the college premises.
