VHP demands formation of Intelligence cadre
Jaipur, May 16 (UNI) Stressing the need for strengthening Intelligence network in the country, the Vishwa Hindu Parishad (VHP) president Ashok Singhal today demanded formation of a new All India Intelligence Service cadre.
Expressing dissatisfaction over the working and credibility of the Home Ministry's Research and Analysis Wing (RAW) and IB at a press meet here, Mr Singhal said ''soft and insensitive'' attitude of the UPA Government at the Centre towards terrorism had badly impaired the working of these premier intelligence bodies.
The firebrand leader alleged certain foreigners had also got positions in the RAW.
Toeing the lines taken by BJP Prime Ministerial candidate Lal Krishna Advani on Prevention of Terrorism Act (POTA), the VHP chief noted the country was presently in a dire need of such stringent law.
Mr Singhal said Prime Minister Manmohan Singh should immediately convine a meeting of Chief Ministers to discuss the issue.
He further praised Vasundhara Raje Government's handling of the situation and said RSS cadres had also done a commandable work in providing relief to the blasts' victims. Mr Singhal arrived here this morning. He visited the hospitals to meet the victims.
