Tribals stage dharna against setting up of Tata Steel Plant
Jagdalpur, MP, May 16 (UNI) In order to protest proposed Tata Steel Plant at Lohandiguda area in Bastar divsion of Chhattisgarh, tribals from 10 villages staged dharna in front of Commissioner Office.
The protestors demanded to the government that the name of the villagers, who recieved the compensation should be make public.
''Opposition had to be faced if the land would be handed over to the Tata without making the list public and district administration and state government will be responsible for that,'' tribals said.
Talking to the reporters, tribals, who hailed from Kumhali, Dabpal, Badeparoda, Sisirguda, Belar and Badanji villages, alleged that state government had been cheating people by handing over the land to Tata Company.
Adivasi Mahasabha President Manish Kunjam said to the reporters that Chhattisgarh government had been succummbed to the Tata Company and hence it had been providing the land in haste.
''Stern actions will be taken against this endeavour of state government,'' he added.
