Select metals rise on strong advice from global mkts
Mumbai, May 16 (UNI) Select metals moved up today on better buying support by industrial users, along with strong advice from London Metal Exchange (LME) Kolkata, Delhi and other centres, traders at the Bombay Metal Exchange (BME) said.
In ferrous metal category, copper utensils and brass cuttings rose by Rs 400 and Rs 300 per quintal respectively, on heavy demand by industrial users induced by firm advice from Kolkata, Delhi, Indore and other centres.
Copper heavy, brass utensils and aluminium utensils remained unchanged on moderate demand by stockists.
In non-ferrous metal category, some select metals advanced, copper wire bars and tin slab shot up by Rs 100 per quintal and Rs 5 per kg respectively, on lesser stock supply by stockists.
However, aluminium ingot, zinc slab, lead ingot and nickel cathode remained flat on scattered buying by stockists, traders added.
Following are the spot metal prices per quintal: Ferrous metals: copper heavy - Rs 36,800, copper utensils - Rs 33,100, brass utensils - Rs 25,200, brass cuttings - Rs 26,600 and aluminium utensils - Rs 11,100.
Non-ferrous metals: copper wire bars - Rs 40,400, aluminium ingots - Rs 14,200, zinc slab - Rs 11,700, lead ingots - Rs 12,000, tin slab - Rs 1,205 per kg and nickel cathode - Rs 1,330 per kg.
