PM Manmohan Singh arrives in Bhutan

{image-pm manmohan singh_16052008.jpg news.oneindia.in}Paro, May 16: Prime Minister Manmohan Singh arrived here this morning at the start of a two-day visit to Bhutan, hoping to shape a bilateral relationship based on the solid foundations of the past and building on each other's national interests in the 21st century.

Dr Singh and Mrs Gursharan Kaur were received at the Paro airport by Bhutan Prime Minister Lyonchen Jigme Y Thinley and his wife. After a brief welcome ceremony at the airport, Dr Singh and his delegation left by road for Thimphu, the Bhutanese capital, where he will hold talks with the Bhutanese leaders over the next two days.

Dr Singh was accompanied by National Security Adviser M K Narayanan, T K A Nair, Principal Secretary to the Prime Minister, Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon, Power Secretary Anil Razdan and other senior officials.
