Parliamentary Committee to visit Kerala, L'dweep from May 19
Kochi, May 16 (UNI) The Parliamentary Standing Committee on Social Justice and Empowerment under the chairmanship of Mrs Sumitra Mahajan, MP, will visit Kerala and Lakshadweep from May 19 to 23.
The committee members will review the implementation of schemes for the welfare of SCs, OBCs, minorities and senior citizens at a meeting here on May 19 with the representatives of the Ernakulam district administration and departments of social justice and empowerment and minority affairs.
The same day the committee will meet the representatives of the National Scheduled Caste Finance and Development Corporation (NSFDC).
On May 21 and 22, the committee will interact with tribals as well as the Administrator and other officials of the Lakshadweep.
On May 23, the committee will visit the Karunabhavan Social Centre at Kalady, near here, an NGO implementing integrated programmes for the welfare of elders, an official release said here today.
