Eight model villages coming up in central Kashmir
Srinagar, May 16 (UNI) A model village each in eight blocks, at a cost of Rs 9.20 crore, is coming up in the central Kashmir district Badgam where 738 rural works have already been completed at a cost of Rs 7.20 crores.
An official spokesman said an amount of Rs 9.20 crore was being incurred in raising basic infrastructure in eight model villages in all blocks of the Budgam district.
As many as 738 rural works had been completed at a cost of Rs 7.20 crore in these villages till March last.
He said that 290 income generating units and 120 self help groups were set up under a centrally aided scheme in the district.
Loan to the tunes of Rs 1.83 crores were also advanced by financial institutions while the government had provided subsidy of Rs 48.89 lakh in favour of beneficiaries.
