Dharna held demanding arrest of attackers of ex-sarpanch
Phagwara, May 16 (UNI) Hundreds of the residents of Nai Abadi Phagwara today held demonstration and sat on dharna before Satnampura Police Station in protest against the assault on Ex-Sarpanch Gurbchana Ram by armed assailants near Hadiabad, when he was going to file nomination papers for Panchayat Elections yesterday.
The demonstrators led by Bahujan Samaj Party State General Secretary Ashok Sandhu and Secretary Harbhajan Singh Balalon alleged that no arrest was made even after thirty hours of the incident,while the victim was struggling for life in civil hospital in critical condition.
Satnampura SHO Param Sunil Randhawa while admitting that no arrest could be made till now, said police parties have been dispatched to nab the culprits who have been identified.
