Byrraju Foundation hosts RBPO conference
Hyderabad, May 16 (UNI) Byrraju Foundation, a non-profit organisation, today organised the first national Rural BPO Conference titled 'JYOTISMAY' Former NASSCOM President Kiran Karnik stressed the importance of the services sector and knowledge economy to sustain India's growth, especially for rural India.
'Rural India not only offers lower costs, but an abundant pool of highly-motivated talent. The future for India's BPO sector lies in moving more of its operations to rural India. Organizations like the Byrraju Foundation have pointed the way; doubtless others will follow,' he added.
The conference had representation from various states including Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Karnataka, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Andhra Pradesh.
Different business models and social impact of the initiative were presented and the session was moderated by Mr M N Rao, Managing Director - Tata Business Support Services Limited, the BPO arm of the Tata Group, a press release said.
