Amritraj crashes out of SAIL Open doubles

By Staff

New Delhi, May 16 (UNI) The Indian challenge came to an end as Prakash Amritraj and his doubles partner Rajeev Ram crashed out of the 50,000 dollar ATP Challenger Series' SAIL Open at the DLTA complex here today.

The Indo-US duo looked in complete disarray against the Australian pair of Samuel Groth and Colin Ebelthite, losing the match 6-4, 6-4 in straight sets.

However, in the singles semi-finals, top seeded Lu Yen-hsun from Chinese Taipei (Taiwan) thrased Japanese Go Soeda 6-3, 6-1.

Lu will now meet seventh-seeded American Brendan Evans in the finals tomorrow after the American was given a walk over when Dane Kristian Pless pulled out owing to a stomach bug.
